The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. joined by Focus on Energy and CleanTech partners announced that Wisconsin is the first state to join the US Department of Energy in signing a Memorandum of Understanding promoting greater energy efficiency throughout the state's industrial community.  Read more here.

Nominations Sought for 2006 Governor's Small Business Technology Transfer Award: Governor Doyle will present the winner with a $5,000 check and an engraved plaque on October 30-31, 2006 at the 2006 Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium, located at the Monona Terrace in Madison, WI. The 2006 award is sponsored by Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, CleanTech Partners, Inc and the Wisconsin Department of Commerce.

Governor Doyle names Georgia Pacific - Green Bay mill winner for the 2006 Pulp and Paper Energy Efficiency Award This award recognizes the Wisconsin pulp and/or paper mill that best shows outstanding achievement in implementing an energy efficiency project.  The award was presented during the International 2006 Energy Forum: Immediate Solutions, Emerging Technologies, May 15-17, 2006

CTT Client Reduces Natural Gas Purchases by $220,000 per year: MADISON, Wis.  -  The Center for Technology Transfer (CTT) announced that one of its clients, Granite Valley Forest Products of Marathon, Wisconsin, has commenced use of a new state-of-the-art wood-fired boiler which will reduce the company's natural gas purchases by an estimated $220,000 each year.

On Monday October 3, 2005 the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance presented its 2005 "Inspiring Efficiency through Innovation" Award to the Center for Technology Transfer of Madison, WI. The award recognizes significant contributions to the awareness of energy efficiency in the Midwest region through the development and implementation of a new and innovative idea or policy.

CTT commits $350,000 in funding to Erie, Pennsylvania-based Spinworks LLC. Spinworks has developed a series of technologies which will enable Wisconsin heat treating companies to cut the usage of natural gas in their furnaces.

CTT is proud to announce evaluation of new technology it is financing has begun at two major Wisconsin paper companies.  The new technology, Black Liquor Gasification (BLG) could save an average-sized pulp mill more than $11 mm of electricity costs each year, reduce environmental emissions by up to 90%, and significantly accelerate the paper industry's push into biorefining. BLG was developed by ThermoChem Recovery International.
