John D. Emory Jr.

President and CEO, Emory & Co, Investment Banking

John Emory provides merger and acquisition advisory, business valuation, and capital raising services as President & CEO of Emory & Co. He has extensive middle-market experience, providing M&A advisory and valuation services for over ten years. He is the author of numerous published articles and is a frequent speaker on finance-related topics. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, administered by the CFA Institute. Prior to co-founding Emory, Mr. Emory worked as an attorney with Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and bank financing transactions. He has testified as a business valuation expert in trials, arbitrations, and depositions. Among other leadership positions, he is President of the Beijing-based Asia-Pacific CEO Association in the U.S.; Chairman of The M&A Forum; on United Way of Great Milwaukee’s Emerging Leaders Council; on the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) Campaign Cabinet; and a Director of Milwaukee Shakespeare. He received an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a JD cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an AB from Stanford University with majors in Economics and History.

In recent years, their principals have initiated and managed more than 135 merger and acquisition transactions and raised millions of dollars of private investment capital. Emory's operations are local, regional, national, and international. They serve a broad universe of industries, including manufacturing, service, distribution and technology companies.

John is also a member of CTP Board of Directors and acts as Chairman of Investment Fund Board.


Trevor D’Souza

Managing Director of Mason Wells Venture Funds

As a Managing Director of Mason Wells Venture Funds, Mr. D’Souza is primarily responsible for co-managing the venture investment activities of the firm. In this capacity, Mr. D’Souza is responsible for initiating investment opportunities, structuring and negotiating transactions, serving on the Board of Directors of the portfolio companies, working with portfolio company management teams to create shareholder value, and arranging for the orderly disposition of investments at a profit to the fund. Mr. D’Souza is a member of the Management Committee of the firm and of the Investment Committee for the venture funds.
Prior to joining Mason Wells in 2000, Mr. D'Souza had many years of experience in consulting and business management in the software and life science industries with special knowledge in the fields of post-market surveillance systems, clinical data management systems, electronic submissions of regulatory information, international harmonization and technology issues for the life science industry. Previously, Mr. D’Souza was the President & CEO of PharmaSoft North America, Inc., a provider of software products and services for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device communities worldwide. Prior to that Mr. D’Souza was a Senior Program Manager with Booz•Allen & Hamilton, Inc., an international technology and strategy consulting firm, where he was responsible for leading the supplier side of Healthcare IT practice. Prior to that, he was the Director of Information Systems for McKesson BioServices Corporation, a professional services firm providing specialized support for bio-medical research and development.
Mr. D’Souza serves on the Board of Directors for OpGen, Inc., NameProtect, Inc., TeraMEDICA, Inc., and Mezzia, Inc. In addition, Mr. D’Souza serves on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Technology Council, Milwaukee Tennis and Education Foundation and the Catholic University of America Alumni Board of Governors.

Mr. D’Souza received his Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University, Washington D.C. with a concentration in Systems Theory and Cybernetics and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Catholic University of America, Washington D.C., majoring in Computer Science Engineering.


Mark A. Baffa

Director, Fuel Cell Products Group, Modine Manufacturing Company

Mark Baffa has been with Modine for 20 years and has held several positions throughout his tenure. From 1985-1994 Mark was in Modine's corporate purchasing department. In 1988 he was named Director with responsibility for all of Modine's purchasing activities and in 1993 was tasked with global responsibility when Modine made a major acquisition in Germany to expand their presence in the European markets. From 1995-1998 Mark was Operations Manager for Modine's Heavy Duty and Industrial Division where he had responsibility for five major manufacturing facilities. In late 1998, as the fuel cell industry was attracting a great deal of attention throughout industry, Mark was asked to study and evaluate Modine's potential prospects in this area. At Mark's suggestion, Modine formed a Fuel Cell group in 2000 to focus on the emerging market opportunities presented by the fuel cell industry. In the five years since the group was formed Mark has lead a team of engineers and scientists in establishing a prominent position for Modine in this emerging market. Modine is recognized as the leader in providing innovative thermal management solutions to both the fuel cell and the hydrogen infrastructure industries.

Mark has a Bachelors degree in Microbiology from the University of Montana.


Kathy Kunz

Director, Energy Programs, Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation

With more than 15 years of experience in the energy industry, Kathy Kuntz oversees the design and delivery of WECC's energy efficiency and renewable energy programs in Wisconsin. These efforts include multiple award-winning programs; a technically adept, customer-focused call center where staff help consumers transition from information to action; and win-win partnerships with thousands of private businesses that profit from the increased sales of energy efficient products and services. With a passion for programs that facilitate real change, Kathy has direct experience fielding programs for stakeholders that range from industrial process engineers to third-grade teachers.

In addition to her duties at WECC, Kathy served on the board of directors for the Midwest Renewable Energy Association from 2001 - 2007. Kathy received a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota-Morris and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Kathy acts as the representative appointed by Focus on Energy, the funding source.


Greg Dombrowski

President, Johnson Bank - Madison

Greg Dombrowski has been President of Johnson Bank - Madison since its inception in 1996. Before joining Johnson Financial Group, Greg spent 9 years with the Marshall and Isley Corporation in the commercial banking division. Greg is currently active as Board Chair for Catholic Charities and serves on the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra Board.
